Building projects
Over the next few years the university will continue to expand and improve its facilities, including student accommodation. Whilst every effort will be made to keep noise and disruption to a minimum, students applying for
accommodation should be aware that their residence may be close to a building site. Some disturbance from construction work and traffic is inevitable for all residents, and the building work will be noisy at times.
Students who are allocated to brand new accommodation blocks should be aware that minor finishing works may be required during the course of the year, and we will endeavour to keep inconvenience to a minimum.
There will be some disruption in the area of Kett House, Victory House and Paston House whilst the new INTO accommodation building is constructed across the main road.
The refurbishment of the first four blocks of Norfolk Terrace will be completed by September 2007, the remaining two blocks will continue to be refurbished until January 2008, and this may cause some disruption to residents in Norfolk Terrace whilst this work is completed.
All university building projects are listed on the Estates Website, which is regularly updated with progress reports (select Projects and New Buildings). As far as possible, you will be notified in advance of any work which may specifically affect you as a resident. However, it is not always possible for us to predict exactly where works will be carried out, or the extent of the disturbance which may be caused.
