Exchange and Visiting Students
Each year, we welcome over 200 students from Universities all around the world, who study at UEA as part of an Exchange programme, or on special one-year or one-semester visiting courses. The application and allocation processes for Exchange and Visiting students can be quite different, so read on for all the essential information.
This year it is unlikely that we will be able to offer any accommodation to ERASMUS students. All ERASMUS students should locate accommodation in the private sector and not rely on UEA accommodation being offered.
How and When to Apply
In some cases, your Home Institution will arrange UEA accommodation on your behalf, but most students apply directly for accommodation using the form for non-UCAS students.
Autumn and Full-year students
If you are coming to UEA for the Autumn semester, or for the full year starting from September, you should apply as soon as possible after April, and certainly before August, so that we can get your accommodation secure before our busy period.
Spring Semester students
If you are coming to UEA for the Spring semester, you can apply for accommodation from November. You will receive confirmation of your allocation into Residences by mid-December, depending on our availability.
One-semester Accommodation Fees
If you are coming to UEA for the Autumn semester or Spring Semester only, we arrange a special 12-week or 22-week accommodation licence respectively. You should be aware that the nightly rate of accommodation is higher in proportion to the length of stay. For a full breakdown of one-semester rates, click here.
Invoicing for Fees
Some students arrange payment for Accommodation through their Home Institution. If you have any queries about who pays for your Accommodation, contact the course director of your Home Institution.
